Oct. 31st
Shalom Dear Parents,
It has been an exciting week in Kita Gimel in our Judaic program.
In Chumash we are busy learning about Eliezer's meeting with Rivka at the well and how she passes his "test" with flying colors. We have coordinated a little dance to the song we learned last week. The children really enjoy singing and dancing to it. We made "props" for our song and dance. The girls made "kadim" pitchers and the boys made jewelery , like what Eliezer must have brought to impress the bride to be of Yitzchak. We continue to work on learning to read Rashi script and I am very proud of how nicely the children are progressing. In Ivrit we learned about our kufsat Zikaron (memory box) and a song. In order to increase our vocabulary even more, we also learned the different parts of the body and made "miflastot" (monsters (yikes!!) The children then wrote sentences describing their creative monsters using the parts of the body we learned. These will be displayed in the hall soon , so please come by and take a look.
Today your children will come home with another riveting Dvar Torah to share at the Shabbat table, so please be sure to ask your child to share it with you. They should also decorate their parashat hashavua page for our "yofi shel parasha" corner.
Please remind them to do "kebaba."
Upcoming tests: There will be a Chumash test on perek 24 pesukim 1-15 on Tuesday, B"H.
The ongoing every night homework is always to review the pesukim we learn in Chumash, even if we don't always write it down. I have started writing it again since some children have been forgetting to do it.
Please try to see the blog regularly for important updates.
Shabbat Shalom,
Morah Robin
PLEASE NOTE: Please ask your child for all quizzes/tests. These need to be corrected , if possible, and signed and returned the next day.
Thank you!!

Weekly Bulletin for Grade 5/ Oct. 31st
Oct. 31
Shalom Dear Parents,
It has been an exciting week in Kita Heh in our Judaic program.
In Chumash, we are learning about Batya, the daughter of the Pharaoh finding baby Moshe in the basket Yocheved, his mother, made. We have read different Rashis about the special baby Moshe was and the miracles Hashem did, ( Batya's hand miraculously lengthening to reach for the basket, Yocheved being able to nurse Moshe, etc.) We are just about finishing our Hillel and Shammai project in our weekly computer sessions and are starting a new project: An Egyptian newspaper reporting what we are learning in Chumash. In Navi we reviewed most of Perek Aleph and are almost finished with the perek. We will have the test on it either much later next week, or beginning of the next. I will update. In Ivrit we are busy describing ourselves and soon you can see the finished products hanging in our classroom. In Mishna we learned a lot about the six "nesiim" ( heads of the Sanhedrin) from Hillel HaZaken until Rabbi Yehuda Hanasi, who edited the Mishna.
Today we will come home again with a riveting Dvar Torah to enhance the Shabbat table, so please be sure to ask your child to share it with you.
Please remind them to do "kebaba."
Please check the blog for important updates.
Wishing you a Shabbat Shalom,
Morah Robin

Now that the chagim (holidays) are over, for the time being, ......
There will be a weekly, (I hope) vocabulary quiz starting this Friday on words we are learning in Ivrit. The goal is to enhance and expand our children's vocabulary. This week we are concentrating on the parts of the body and the words will be from this category. They have the list, we will be using these words in class in our lessons. Please make sure they review a bit each night and don't wait for the last moment when it can be overwhelming.
Next week : a Chumash test on perek 24 pesukim 1-14 on Tuesday, B"H. They have worksheets , translation sheets and we will , of course, review.......
That's it for now,
Keep warm,
Morah Robin

WEEKLY BULLETIN GRADE 3 OCT. 24TH
Oct. 24th
Shalom Dear Parents,
It has been an exciting past two weeks in Kita Gimel in our Judaic program.
We enjoyed an amazing Chol HaMoed last week . Our Succah Hop was fabulous, but the best part was the wonderful mitzvah our children did of singing Succot songs at the Heritage House and bringing such smiles to the residents' faces. They even had the honor of singing Yom Huledet Sameach (Happy Birthday) to a lovely lady who was celebrating her 100th birthday!!
In Chumash we are busy learning about Eliezer's important mission in finding a wife for Yitzchak. The children have also learned a beautiful song that Eliezer and Rivka sing. Rabbi (Tzion) Elbaz was kind enough to come in and teach it to them. We continue to work on learning to read Rashi script and I am very proud of how nicely the children are progressing. The children are still working on their Perek Projects from perek 23 and these will be due next week. In Ivrit we learned different songs for the chagim and now will go back to our original workbook with the theme of "b'hatslachah". After learning the laws for all of the chagim of Tishre and having been tested on them, the children will show their knowledge of Succot in today's last chagim test, (for now.)
Today your children will come home with another riveting Dvar Torah to share at the Shabbat table, so please be sure to ask your child to share it with you. They should also decorate their parashat hashavua page for our "yofi shel parasha" corner.

WEEKLY BULLETIN OCT.24TH GRADE 5
Oct. 24th
Shalom Dear Parents,
It has been an exciting past two weeks in Kita Heh in our Judaic program.
We enjoyed an amazing Chol HaMoed last week full of ruach in our Succot Maccabia. Our four teams, the lulavim, etrogim, hadassim, and aravot competed so well. Congratulations to the winning team: the Aravot, although all our kids really showed wonderful spirit and great team work. We hoped they shared their experiences with you. The Chagim of Tishre are finally over, but we learned so much about all the holidays and their laws. In fact, we had our Succot test today. In Chumash, we reviewed the first few pesukim of Perek Bet, about Amram and Yocheved , and the birth of Moshe. We are busy doing a deeper analysis of these pesukim through Rashi. The children are still working on their Perek Projects from Perek Aleph and these are due on Monday.
In Ivrit we drew interesting "chai zarim" (aliens) and learned to describe them.
Today we will come home again with a riveting Dvar Torah to enhance the Shabbat table, so please be sure to ask your child to share it with you.
Please remind them to do "kebaba."
Please check the blog for important updates.
