There will be a test on pesukim 1-10 in perek beth next Thursday, so don't wait for the last minute to start your review. We still have one more Rashi page to do.

Navi: Reminder: test on perek aleph this coming Tuesday. We will be doing Navi tomorrow and have a shorter Mishna lesson in order to review before test. We will make up the Mishna next week.

Mishna: maybe a pop quiz on the two review sheets from our intro lesson that we had way back at the beginning of the year, just to refresh your memory.

In Chumash (for Monday): review reading perek 2/ pesukim 1-10. Concentrate on fluid and correct reading of these pesukim. You can use the worksheet we did on some of the vocabulary and try to understand these pesukim, as well.

In Navi: ( for Tuesday): review perek aleph pesukim 1-18 and answer questions 7,8.9 in the packet. They are on the second page. There will be a Navi test soon on perek aleph TBA.

Navi: Review perek aleph from pasuk aleph till 15. You don't need to understand every word, but should be able to follow the story line. Be able to identify which shevatim they are talking about, what city they are conquering, etc.

Remember that the Perek Packet Project on Chumash perek aleph is due Friday. If you will not be in school on Friday , you need to see me for an individual due date! (those who told me they are going away).

Chumash: there will be a quiz on perek 23 pesukim 7-11 on Thursday. We did a review/pretest today which should be reviewed including one other page we did on these pesukim. They both review in different ways. The quiz will look a lot like the pretest/review sheet.

We also began new pesukim today from 11-15 and students can do those for Kebaba!

CHUMASH: Test on pesukim 15- 22 in perek aleph on Wed. including the Rashi's we learned. The review sheets we did today are very comprehensive and cover all of the material you are responsible for. You can also review the other worksheets we did on these pesukim.

The Perek packet project which was handed out today is due this Friday. If you have any questions about what to do, please bring it tomorrow and ask me! You will be able to do some work on it right after the Chumash test on Wed. , so you should bring it, however, this is an at home assignment and you are expected to work on it at home.

Great teamwork today in our Sukkot Maccabiah (Color War)! Mazal Tov to the Etrogim who won, but you are all winners b/c you worked so beautifully together and dispayed so much knowledge of all that we have learned about Sukkot and the holidays of Chodesh Tishrei.

Reminder: there will be a Chumash test next Wed. on pesukim 15-22 in perek aleph including the rashi's we have learned.We will finish up the rashi worksheet we started today tomorrow and it, too, will be on the test. We will review Monday, too.

Be on the lookout for pictures that can be used for our "Crazy Connection" to the phrases we are learning in Chumash. Kol Hakavod to Hannah who brought in pics today and earned her team 20 points!

We had a mini maccabiah in the spirit of Sukkot today w/ our 4 teams of lulavim, etrogim, hadasim and aravot. We tested our knowledge of Sukkot and all the laws we've been learning.

Please review the Rashi worksheet that you practiced reading (the one with the rows).
Please get your Chumash tests signed and return tomorrow.

Also students who still need to do their pasuk and illustration, please do so and not later than to bring back Monday.

Practice reading Rashi from the latest sheet. Try to do the first two lines ( at least). If no one can test you, then cover the answer line with a sheet of paper and test yourself.
In Chumash: practice reading pesukim 9-11 from perek 23. you should be able to explain most of it. You can review from pasuk 7 if you have time.

grade 5/ Color war and Chumash test next week!

We started our Arba'at Haminim Color War today! The students are divided into 4 teams each of the Arba'at minim (lulav, etrog, etc.) and will be competing tomorrow and Wed. in different fields. We will be learning Chumash regularly in addition to the color war.
There will be a Chumash test from pasuk 15 until the end of perek aleph next Wed. the 14th of Oct., B"H.
Both the dinim test on Succot and Yom Kippur and the last Chumash test were returned today and should be signed and corrected for tomorrow. Up to 5 more points can be earned if these are returned tomorrow ( there is a time limit for the extra points).
