Chumash: in the Tal Am workbook please do pgs. 42-43. All students should do the part of filling in the missing words . If they can they may also answer the questions and match up with the picture, but this is not mandatory and should be done with as little help as possible, please!

Chumash test will be Tuesday of next week instead of this Thursday. This is to allow us to finish the review packet tomorrow and then give the children time to review. Once again the test will have different levels so that each child can try to do as much as he/she can. There will be a basic part which if done well can give your child a "metsuyan" (excellent) and shows that your child was able to process and comprehend the material taught on an average level of understanding.Then there will be a few "bonus" parts which ask for a bit more complex understanding of the material learned. These parts are more challenging. Everything is material we reviewed and learned in class.

I sent home last week's (Fri's) bulletin today so please look for it in your child's backpack. ( I forgot to give it to them yesterday).

H.W. in their Chumash review packet I asked them to answer question #4 and to try to do #5 and even #6, however, without help, please! It is good for them to try and understand the questions on their own. They understand a lot more than they or you think! #6 might be a bit difficult and it is perfectly ok not to do it. We will be going over these tomorrow as well as learning one more Rashi ( #7,8). They should also review the pesukim 15-25 , a few each night. This can be done for Kebaba.

REMINDER: CHUMASH TEST THIS THURSDAY ON PEREK GIMEL PESUKIM ALEPH TILL 13. The children have a number of sheets which we did in class on these pesukim and which will help them review and know what to focus on. I have put up sample worksheets of what we did in my classroom and have repeatedly encouraged them to make sure they have all the sheets. It is their responsibility to check and come and see me if they are missing anything.

I sent home last week's bulletin today. Please look for it in your child's backpack.

upcoming test and hw for grade 3/ jan. 11

Hope you all enjoyed last Friday's snow day. As a result, I will be sending home Friday's bulletin today with your child.
There will be a Chumash test this Thursday on pesukim 15-25 and the children really show that they are ready for it. They know these pesukim so well!
They have a review sheet which we will be completing tomorrow, and can be used as review for this test.
Chumash h .w.: p. 39 in Tal Am workbook. They need to match each sentence to the appropriate picture. All in all the pics and sentences explain why Rivka was so suitable to be a wife for Yitzchak.
Thank you to all parents who either emailed me or wrote or smilied that their children did the content questions on the new (old now ) pesukim.

Parents: In yesterday's blog I posted some questions to ask your children to see how well they were paying attention and grasping the concepts we are learning in Chumash. I told them that they should encourage you to ask them and then please just let me know whether by a quick /short email or even by making a smiley in their planners that they answered one or more of the questions. I told them to do this by Friday since I know that you are all very busy and wanted to give enough time to be able to do this without any pressure. This is just another way for you to be informed of what we are learning and to see for yourself how well your child is progressing. For those parents who already asked the questions yesterday, you don't have to again, but please let me know.

grade 3: h.w. in Chumash and guide questions for parents/students

Chumash: perek 24 : We read new pesukim today. So please review the reading of these pesukim: 21-25. You won't understand every word yet, bu should follow the story. You should be able to answer these questions based on what we did today in class:
1. What does Eliezer give Rivka?
2. What 2 questions does he ask her?
3. What does he do first , Ask her the questions or give her the ......?
And if you were reeeeeallly paying attention you might also be able to answer:
4. What was Rivka's answers to his questions?

Also review the previous pesukim 15-21 which you should understand.
