grade 3/ mar. 22 h.w. and test reminders

H.W. in dinim: We started our new haggada packet. The children should draw or color whatever they did not get a chance to do in class on the pages we did (up to karpas). They should also review the information.
Our Chumash test is this Wed. so they should start to review and study. The test is on pesukim 50-67 with focus on the worksheets I gave on pesukim 50-60. For pesukim 60-67 the children need to be able to understand the pesukim in a more general way with focus on understanding the story. Questions like: Where did Yitzchak just come from ? or what happened to Rivka when she saw Yitzchak ? might be asked on these pesukim.

grade 3/ upcoming test change mar.19

OK: this is pretty much final (sorry for the changes.....)
Chumash test on pesukim 50-67 is next WED (not Friday) . On Friday there will be a DINIM test on Pesach on their first packet only, not on the haggada packet.
For the Chumash test they should , of course, review the pesukim in the Chumash and focus on the words and questions in their review packet for pesukim 50-60. For pesukim 60-67 they just need to know the story line and be able to understand those pesukim in a more general way.

The Purim tests did go home yesterday, but not all the children brought them back to me signed.
Parsha pages will go home today so please be sure to ask your child to tell you a bit about this week's parsha.
There will be no bulletin today. I will send one next Friday and fill you in on all the news.

grade 5/ test reminder for next week

There will be a dinim test on the first packet on Pesach next Thursday. Please don't leave your studying for the last minute.
Also you must start learning your part by heart for our siyum play. We will be rehearsing much more next week.
Parsha pages were given today. Students who tell their dvar Torah and have parents sign (after Shabbat) and bring back will get stickers. We will be busting balloons next week.

No newsletter was sent home today. I will be sending one next Friday and fill you in on all the news.

Chumash test next Friday not Thursday and h.w.

The Chumash test on the end of perek 24 will be next Friday and not Thursday. It is on pesukim 50-67.

The children should review their Pesach packet.
Second Step pages went home today. (they are really from Fri-Mon lessons)

grade 3/ mar. 17th upcoming Chumash test!

Chumash: each night review a number of the pesukim from 50-67 since we will be having a test on these pesukim next Thursday.
The children have a review packet for 50-60 which we are presently completing. They should focus on the questions there and the pages we did in the TAl Am workbook . We are still working on that.
At the same time we are also busy learning about Pesach. We are finishing up our first workbook which covers the laws up until the holiday. The next packet they will get will be their "enrichment" haggada which will cover the laws of the seder and all kinds of interesting items that they can share at the seders.

Reminder: Chumash test on perek vav this Friday. Review the pesukim and the first three pages of the packet, please! Yes, you need to know the family tree, however, that part will be multiple choice type or an answer bank , so you will need to recognize more than actually produce the answers . This goes for the whole test as a Chumash will not be allowed this time.

Believe it or not, before we know it, we will be on stage performing our play, so ppppllease start learning your parts by heart. After Pesach no scripts allowed during rehearsals!

Finish illustrating the two reasons Shabbat HaGadol is called Shabbat HaGadol, please. Again make it neat and beautiful! Use rulers to write straight , please!

Chumash: review some "older" pesukim 50-60. We will be having a sort of bigger test in about a week or so on pesukim 50-67, so it is good for the children to review . I will be giving them review sheets which will focus on what they need to know, so don't worry. Right now we still have not completed the last seven pesukim of the perek in enough depth yet and they can still not understand these pesukim fully.....yet. Anyway, today we did only Pesach, so I would like them to review and tomorrow we will focus on the last seven pesukim and then in the next lessons review. When I see they are ready I will schedule a test.

In the Pesach w/b just to review what we've done so far.

Today we did Mishna instead of Chumash 'cause we did Chumash on Friday (we flipped). So h.w. is to try to do p. 124 ,but first review the mishna so you make sure you understand it, then you should be able to fill in the chart. We did start it in class together. Also try to memorize as much as you can. We will be having a quiz next week TBA and you will have to know the majority of this mishna by heart (up to Rabbi Tarfon story).
Mishna quizzes went home today. Be sure to show it to your parents and have quizzes signed and returned to me tomorrow!

Tomorrow, B"H, we will be back on normal schedule and doing Navi and also starting the Pesach workbook I gave out today.

You should be rereading your part every night. This way it will be easier to learn by heart!!

H.W. in Dinim: We started our first Pesach workbook. We learned the 4 names of the approaching holiday. Please choose one of those names (Use p. 1 of the workbook to help you, if you forgot) and neatly write the name you chose on the construction paper I gave you and the reason in Ivrit it is called this (also from the page in the workbook) and then illustrate a beautiful picture for me. Make colorful and NEAT, please!

Chumash test this Thursday: We reviewed today with our Bingo game and I showed you exactly which sheets can help you review. I have also put up examples in our classroom. Please don't wait for the last minute to study. It is on all of perek heh including notes that you copied from the board!

H.w. in dinim: to copy neatly the riddles you wrote about Purim onto the clean page I gave you today. Write at least 2-3 riddles in Ivrit only and then decorate your page nicely. Please return tomorrow!
