Chumash test will be on Thursday not Wed. I did send an email to all the parents so you would know about this change. We will be having a special Tu B'Shvat activity with the sixth grade tomorrow.
We completed the review packets and the children show they understand the material. PLease make sure they review the psukim: perek 24 psukim 15-27.

grade 3/ jan. 13th hw and reminders

In Chumash: finish up the review packet if you did not do so in class. There will be a test on perek 24 psukim 15-27 next WED. The review packet focuses on what you need to know including which vocabulary.

Please don't forget to bring in $ for the school wide project of planting trees in Israel , especially in the Carmel forest which was so devastated recently. Any amount is great from one cent and up. It all counts!

grade 5/ jan. 13th hw and the week ahead!

So what hw do we have for next week?

Chumash: there is a test WED on perek gimel psukim 1-12 including the Rashi's we have learned. You should study your packet up till what we did there (not the whole packet, we have not learned the whole packet yet because it is on the entire perek, so only the pages we did!)
Please don't forget the RAShi we studied today on pasuk 12 . This is a separate sheet of paper you need to know it. Also include the vocabulary sheets of "Eich Katuv BaTorah?" that were given out separately.

Mishna: We have completed our study of Mishna gimel. There will be a quiz on it , ok , a "shmiz" next Friday. For Tuesday, please complete the worksheet I gave you today.

Remember there is no school on Monday due to Martin Luther King Day, so use the time to study so you do not get stressed.

We learned about the Parsha today. PLease don't forget to give your D'var Torah and get it signed and decorate it for next week. Tomorrow we will be going to the Shakespeare Festival which is why we had our parsha lesson today.
Because I am not sure how much time we will have together tomorrow, I will not post a secret student today. Look for it next week.

grade 3/Jan. 12th hw and upcoming test

Chumash test coming up next WED 1/19 on perek 24 psukim 15-27. We will have a review packet which the children will receive today. Actually part of their hw is in the review packet (see below). The packet stresses which vocabulary they need to know from these psukim, which Rashi's and what knowledge of content to stress for the test. We will be completing the packet in class. The only part to be done for hw is in part Beth: to answer questions 1-4 for hw for tomorrow.

grade 5/ Jan. 12th hw and upcoming test

Chumash: review perek gimel psukim 1-11 by reading and explaining . There will be a Chumash test next WED 1/19 on perek gimel psukim 1-12 including the Rashi's we've learned. We will be learning one more Rashi.
We will be having a Chumash lesson tomorrow in addition to our Navi lesson since there will not be any gym/art tomorrow due to the Kindergarten Preview Day.

grade 5/ jan. 4 QUIZ REMINDER

This Friday: Mishna "Shmiz" on the order of the Mishna. You will have a chance to ask any questions you still may have tomorrow. After working on the skills units, we will now go back to learning another mishna.

grade 5/ hw and a look at the week ahead

H.W. in Chumash: due tomorrow: reread psukim 1-10 in perek gimel and answer questions 1-4 on the first page in our new packet for prakim gimel and daled.

So what will be doing this first week back after winter break?

We will be summing up our Mishna seder skills in Mishna this week and having a quiz , sorry, "shmiz" on it this Friday.

In Navi we will be starting perek daled and learn about our next judge, excuse me, Judgess (?) in Hebrew it sounds much better: shofetet= D'vorah and her military commander: Barak Ben Avinoam.

In Chumash we will continue our new perek gimel and delve into some Rashi's to help explain the questions we have concerning the amazing event of the Burning Bush (Hasneh HaBoer) and learn special vocabulary words. We will also continue working on our Crazy Connections collages.

On Friday we will learn about this week's parsha and have our shmiz.

So, hope you all had a wonderful break and have an enjoyable first week back!
