weekly update for March 22

B”H                                                                                                     Erev Shabbat HaGadol

MORAH ROBIN’S JUDAIC UPDATE FOR WEEK OF

                              MARCH 22ND

What a busy week we had in Kita Heh! Learning about Pesach, reviewing its laws, having a test on them, and finishing up our special Passover Haggada “companion” took most of our time. Those special Haggada “companions” contain a lot of interesting material and Divrei Torah that are meant to enrich your seders. Please be sure to ask your child to share it with you, in case they forget to. I am enclosing a letter about this with the newsletter which needs to be signed and returned to me after Pesach. I explained to the children that instead of a written test on the Haggada packet, their “test” is to share what they’ve learned with you at your seders ,or even during the holiday. If that is done, they “passed” the test. However, if they don’t share anything, then they will be held responsible for the material after the holiday.

We had time this week to continue learning a bit in Chumash and continued with our new psukim in perek 45 , from 1-8, discussing how Yosef revealed himself to his brothers and the first things he said to them to make them feel comfortable and not guilty for what they did to him. I hope you have seen your child’s Chumash test which went home last week. Please ask for it, if you haven’t. It should be signed and shown to me, so I know you are aware of your child’s progress. In Navi we continued a bit in perek 6 and learned what Hashem told Gideon to do before he would fight Midyan, Amalek and Bnei Kedem.

Today will have a “model” seder together with the sixth grade, which will be led by Rabbi Elbaz and myself. In addition with reviewing the important parts of the seder, we have also planned many fun activities for the students. We hope they will enjoy it and bring that excitement home with them for a joyous Pesach.

Wishing you all a very happy and “kosher” Pesach!

                                 חג כשר ושמח !!!

Shabbat Shalom,

Morah Robin
