Shalom Fifth Grade Parents,
Just a short update for this past week in Fifth Grade Judaics:
In Chumash we have begun perek 44 after a short review of perek 43. We are presently working on psukim 1-10 in perek 44 of Parshat Mikeitz and are very close to completing this parsha.
In Navi: We had a test on perek 4 in Sefer Shoftim after we had a comprehensive review of the perek and I added additional information. I should return these tests later this week. Speaking of tests, two were returned last week: Navi and Chanuka, so please make sure you ask your child to share the results with you. Those test grades were part of Second quarter grades.
In Navi we have also begun a new project. This time it is a power point project where the students are choosing Navi phrases they learned from the first four prakim and are creating pictures or animation to explain these phrases.
This coming week we will be starting our new Purim packets: one on the laws and the other on the Megila story. We will also be starting a new ongoing project for Chumash in a new notebook I am calling a "Chumshilon" ( made up word: combination of Chumash and milon=dictionary) . The students will be choosing Chumash phrases to write and illustrate throughout the rest of the year, to enhance and aid in their retention of these phrases.
Our middah of the month is still " Erech Apayim" ( not getting upset or angry quickly) and I am still searching for our new king and queen of this important quality.
It is great to be back at school and this first week back was busy and wonderful! Your children are amazing to teach and I love them!
Shavua Tov!
Morah Robin
