second grade newsletter/ dec 7th

B”H

                                                Morah Robin’s  Judaic Newsletter/ Dec. 7th

We have been super busy in Kita Bet this week. Our rehearsals for the Chanuka skit are going well and our children are showing what fine actors and actresses they are. Please make sure your child still reviews her/his lines over the weekend and till the play, so it is not forgotten and no words are dropped. They will need to wear white tops and dark bottoms, Shabbat shoes for Wed. We will be performing on Wed. Dec. 12th at 9:30 in the Shul, B”H.  The entire program of K-4 should take about an hour.

In Chagim (holidays) we are almost done with our Chanuka story packet and have continued learning in our Dinim ( laws) packet. We will continue it next week, as well. Both packets should be ready to send home next week Friday.

Due to our daily rehearsals we did not progress much in Chumash this week and will catch up later next week.

We had a quiz on the Techiliot ( prefixes) and our students showed that they have mastered them. Now when we read psukim, we will be pointing them out. They should do that when they read for Kebaba, too. Our next unit will begin Shorashim ( roots).

The children had a lesson with Liat Shaked this week. She is the Israeli Shlicha and they worked on a project for the students of our sister school in Kfar Saba, Beit Sefer Shiloh. Ask your child what he/she did.

Yishar Koach to Joshua Koppes who prepared a slide show on the Chanuka story as an extra project on his own. We will all watch it together next week. I am once again amazed by wonderful second grade initiative!

Today we will learn about this week’s parsha. Please ask your child to share it with you and return signed , so I know he/she did.

I would like to wish you all a Shabbat Shalom and Chag Chanuka Sameach!

Morah Robin and Morah Malca
