Shalom Second Grade Parents,
This update will be instead of my usual newsletter. Last week was all about Chanuka in Kita Bet. Bravo to our wonderful second grade actors and actresses who gave such an amazing performance in their Chanuka skit on Wed. We hope you were able to be there and to enjoy it. Special thank you to Rabbi Tzion Elbaz and Morah Malca who helped at each rehearsal.
We completed our two packets on Chanuka : the story of Chanuka with the children as the illustrators and the Dinim ( laws) packet. Both were sent home on Friday. Please take the time to review them with your child so you can see what he/she learned. Since I saw so many beautiful illustrations in the Chanuka story packet and the children are curious to see the other students' pictures, I chose one illustration from each Chanuka packet and compiled a class packet of illustrations. This packet will be sent home at the beginning of this week, so please be sure to look for it in your child's Take Home Folder. This week we will try to get back to our routine again. A lot of Chumash learning is waiting for us as we resume our study of Parshat Noach. We will also begin our study of shorashim ( roots) and each child will get his/her own magnifying glass to be a super "Chumash Balash!" ( Chumash detective) , but please don't tell the kids, it is a surprise!
