second grade judaic newsletter/nov 2

B”H

Morah Robin’s Second Grade Judaic Newsletter/ Nov. 2

Another busy week has flown by in Kita Bet! This week we completed our Bereisheet packets in Chumash and are almost done with our Creation albums. Some of us have already started our Creation mini poster, which will have illustrations and Chumash phrases we have learned in this parsha. I will send home the Bereisheet packets next week as we still need them for reference for our mini poster project.  Next week we will start our next parsha of Noach and get new packets. Like I said last week the Noach packets will show our progress as it has many more psukim to read and understand. We are trying to be good “Chumash Balash (im)” (Chumash detectives) and are practicing our new skill of identifying the “techiliot” ( prefixes) in words. We have learned 7 prefixes and will be practicing them a lot , until we know them well. We will also have a memory game on these prefixes to help with their retention. The memory game will be taken home next week for individual practice. That is guaranteed to be a fun homework assignment!

As I explained in this week’s assignment sheet, each week I will assign one reading assignment and one written assignment. Although the hw will be written on certain days, your child has the flexibility to complete them at any time during the week, as long as it is done by Friday. This is to allow for all the busy schedules of choir, soccer, ballet, etc. Please let me know if there are any problems or concerns with this arrangement.

Today your child will bring home another D’var Torah on this week’s parsha. Please encourage him/her to share it with you and return signed next week.

Thank you for your cooperation!

Shabbat  Shalom!

Morah Robin and Morah Malca
