fifth grade newsletter for nov. 29th

B”H

                                    MORAH ROBIN’S JUDAIC NEWSLETTER/ NOV. 29TH

We had another busy week in Kita Heh in our Judaic class. In Chumash we had our test on psukim 11-20, but are already in the middle of our next group of psukim: 21-28 ( perek 42 Parshat Mikeitz). We will add a few more psukim to this group before we are ready for another test. Our students are showing wonderful progress in their study of Chumash and are displaying much better skills when analyzing psukim and Chumash vocabulary.  In Dinim we are learning the laws of  Chanuka in our new Chanuka packet and will continue that next week, as well. Speaking of Chanuka we have been very busy rehearsing for our upcoming Chanuka play: Dec. 13th at 10 am , Thursday. Please make sure your child knows his/her part by heart by Monday. We cannot use scripts in our rehearsals; we need to use our props. We have a fine set of actors and actresses in our fifth grade and your are in for a treat B”H!

The month of Cheshvan’s middah ( quality) was “zerizut” ( quickness to do a mitzvah) and our Melech ( king) and Malca ( queen) were announced.  A big Yishar Koah goes to : Shummy Katz and Isabella Abelman who showed much “zerizut” this past month in doing mitzvoth and in getting on task quickly. The next middah we are working on for the month of Kislev is: controlling one’s anger, one’s outbursts = Erech Apayim

Today your child will come home with another D’var Torah to share with you at the Shabbat table. Please encourage them to do so and return signed so I know  you saw it.

Thank you for your ongoing cooperation!

Shabbat Shalom,

Morah Robin
