Morah Robin's second grade newsletter for Sept. 28th

B"H

Morah Robin's Judaic Newsletter: Sept. 28th

Shalom Second Grade Parents,

I hope you had a meaningful Yom Kippur and although these past two weeks were not complete ones, we did manage to get a lot done in our second grade Judaic classroom.

We learned about Rosh Hashana, as you saw from your child's Rosh Hashana packets. I was so happy to see that so many students were able to answer most of the 10 questions I posted in my last newsletter. Thank you parents for returning my letter signed and with comments. I enjoyed reading them all. We  also learned about Yom Kippur and that packet will be going home today in your child's Take Home Folder. We are still working on our Succot packet and as this goes to print have not yet finished. I plan to continue a bit during Chol HaMoed when we have school next week. When we complete our study of Succot that packet will also go home, so your child can share it with you.  Today they will be bringing home a wonderful decoration for your Succot: a mini succah! This can be hung from your succah or can decorate your holiday table. One child suggested it can even be used to store the "etrog". They are very excited about this new project and we should be completing them today, so please look for them in your child's backpack. In the midst of all our Chagim studies, we were also able to sneak in a bit of Chumash this past week and learned what Hashem created on the third day. You can ask your child, but since we haven't reviewed it lately, they might have trouble remembering. ( "desheh" =grass, "yabasha" =land, " eitsim" =trees, fruit trees). We will need to review and continue as soon as time allows us, most probably after Succot.

Today your child will have another D'var Torah to share. Please encourage them and return signed and decorated to hang in our Yofi Shel Parsha corner.

Please remember to empty out your child's  "leave at home pocket" in his/her Take Home Folder. It helps keep us organized. Thank you!

Wishing you a happy and healthy Chag Succot!
Shabbat Shalom!
